Why "Singerman Repugnant" AKA "Superman Returns" isn't the lead example in that story is beyond me. It's not just the horrible Superman costume, or the tragic casting of Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane, or the terrible decision for Lois to have another boyfriend, or the illegitimate kid, or Superman as a deadbeat dad. But this was "Superman"! Of every comic book hero this story was so easy. The Story was already there all that would have been necessary to do was put it on screen, like Richard Donner did.

For that reason "Singerman Repugnant" wins my vote as the absolute worst comic book film adaptation of all time, with no close second. Until Peter Seagal and John August deliver "Shazam" in 2009 or later, then they'll screw up Captain Marvel as some comedy and "Singerman Repugnant" will have a close second.

The comments on the bottom of the original story mention several movies that were left out - the original punisher with Dolph, Howard the Duck, the Phantom with Billy Zane, the second live action TNMT movie, etc.

The original Captain America (TV?) was pretty bad. Much worse than Daredevil and Catwoman. The Phantom was pretty sad. It tried, it just didnt get there.

I didnt think that Ghost Rider and LXG were bad. They were entertaining. I would have done things differently in some parts (Blackheart should have looked cooler) but they were entertaining, especially compared to things like Howard the Duck and the original Punisher.

"V" was awesome! Better than the illustrated novel.

First off, one of the main problems when transposing a comic to film or other forms of media, the writers have a nasty habit of going by 'canonized' information as opposed to what is 'authentic' facts.

The other dilemma is the fact, some producers feel if you hype a famous comic character's name with a film, it doesn't matter if it makes sense or not.

Case in point, Superman Returns. The producers wanted to bridge between the second and third movie, I'm assuming. But the problem was, fans already had the mindset of Superman from the animated series, where Luthor wasn't some mad scientist criminal and Superman and Lois' relationship wasn't so steamy.

Thus when the movie went with the traditional characteristics from the original films, not to mention add some questionable elements (like Lois having Superman's illegitimate child), fans were left confused and disappointed.

As for Catwoman, one only knows WHAT they were thinking...
