Movies – As a kid, which movies really freaked you out? Did a parent, friend or relative accidentally or deliberately scar you with a scary movie?
Poltergeist. I know now that it was cheesy as hell, but when I was a kid, it terrified me. I lived in a suburban Los Angeles development, my sister had a scary clown toy, there was a freaky tree outside my window, and we had a pool in our back yard.
It wasn't a movie for me; it was a nightmarish documentary!
For me there's two movies which come to mind. The first is Labyrinth. Bowie scares the ****** out of me at the best (or worst) of times, but add contact juggling and walking on upside down stairs to his repitoire and you got one scared child!
The other is an Irish film from the 50's; Darby O'Gill and the Little People starring a pre-Bond Sean Connery. I would dive for cover behind the sofa when the death carriage came to take Darby away...and remember this was a Disney film. Scary biscuits.

For me, this one's easy. It was accidental. It was simply a movie they didn't think would scar me. I was 7, I think, and the movie was:
Godzilla vs The Smog Monster
