Movies – "Warning! The following movie may cause nausea and motion sickness." This is the puzzling message many theatre goers will experience prior to scurrying to their seats amidst a darkened backdrop.
Saw the movie and I would recommend it for anyone. I can definitely see a sequel from a military P.O.V. There are just too many unanswered questions about the monster and the military is the one in control. The whole thing could happen the same time frame as the original. Our future definitely looks bleak especially since carpet bombing the thing didn't phase it.
Still haven't figured out why the flick is called "Cloverfield". Maybe I missed something with all the camera jostling.
"Blair Witch" was a laffer for me. It made a fortune, however, and I feel the joke was on the viewers who paid to see it.
"Cloverfield", with a bit more substance, was still more technique and style over content, but it held my interest until the closing frame. I felt that the party scene, although necessary, was waaaaaaaayyyyy too long.
Just my opinion, of course, but Cloverfield was worth the matinee $5 while Blair was not. YMMV.
