Jump forward fifteen years or so and we find that times may move on but Blade Runner's star has yet to dim. Seeing it on the big screen is still a real treat. The new print looks great, some effects have a tarted up look about them, but, once more, little has changed.

Blade Runner is in my top 3 all time favorite movies and it's re-release is so fine.

  The original release was terribly cut; the director's cut is a masterpiece. Amazing what can happen with the right editing.

    True and sometimes the suits do not know what is best for a movie. Seriously, it was a real bad editing job with the first release.

      I think that the addition of Vangelis' score to the director's cut was really instrumental in creating the atmospherics of the movie.

        The Vangellis score is integrated perfectly into the experience of Bladerunner. One of the greatest movie scores ever. I only have the Director's Cut. I don't remember the original theatrical release well enough to compare details. But this remains one of my all time favorite movies.

        Plus the sets were designed by the same guy who did the sets for Kubrick's 2001.

        Vangellis musical genius is apparent with everything he writes. I still love the Jon and Vangellis albums. It was such a wonderfull day for me several months ago. When I got to take some albums (Two of J&V) and transfer them from LP to MP3.
        even with some pops and hiss, the recording takes me back to younger days.

I have always loved this movie. The only thing that I've seen done by Ridley Scott that was disappointing was 1492.

Truely one of my top fav movies, along with Brazil, Shakes the Clown, Clockwork Orange and Army of Darkness. Man would I love to have one of the original cuts where Harrison Ford narrates through the movie. They all disappeared after the directors cut came out.

  MightyMouth, a four disc set containing all versions of Blade Runner except the Work Print Version will be available on Dec. 18th for just $23.
