much I really think too controversy is being made over this movie. While I appreciate the concern of those who are critical and I may in fact agree with them. I realize this is art. As well while the concern for children's safety (a movement that I think is sincere but misdirected) tends to motivate us to say that the same thing that is art with adult is a crime with a child. Because it is art, upon a challenge it will be a hard job to hold that standard.
What this open debate proves to me is in the event of a real rape, when the adults do not wish to pursue a conviction because of the desire not to have the child relive the circumstances of the rape. It is the adults who cannot deal with the subject. They are protecting themselves not the child. This is a harder subject for the adults in our modern society to deal with than they wish to acknowledge. They are using the "innocence of the child" clause to masquerade that fact.

what ever happened to good old fashioned movies that could portray the same feeling with out having the added shock value. Old movies, especially black and white film, are works of art. Today people tend to go overboard when they don't need to. I find it really sad that movies are so violent and depressing these days. The fact that they use little girls to add the shock value is even more shocking and I wont watch movies that go overboard. Why not just watch a porno? Those chicks are raped all the time.

Art imitates life and actors are artist. At what point will we tell artist they can no longer create or portray images of life. Because I can think of a few that I think have just as serious concern as this does to it's critics but they probably don't think so and would disagree with me. Like the use of the "n" word. By white actors portraying racist and black rappers performing their lyrics. I know that's a "hot button" that's why I used it but I can go on for hours.
If this girl had enough of an understanding of what she was participating in and was up or the challenge then she should be commended as an artist not shielded. But then that's my opinion. I know to some I am a pedophile for having that opinion but that's a criticism I can live with.
