Sept. 7, 2006, 4:15 p.m."Ya know kids, Spock and I were right around your age when we first met. In fact, we were just about to begin our Academy training ..."? Ugh. I'm not crazy about it. You?"
Think that may be a great way for entry along those lines.
After all another Trek film was about the camp fire.

Sept. 7, 2006, 6:13 p.m.I'm excited. As a huge Star Trek fan I'd love to see another movie. Hopefully they tie in a few of the characters from TNG.

Sept. 7, 2006, 6:27 p.m.Trek needs JJ Abrams to reinvigorate the franchise; if Shatner and Nimoy are woven into the story that'll be icing on the cake!

Sept. 7, 2006, 8:17 p.m.Nimoy didn't even show any support for Shatner when he really was down and needed help, so I'm through with him. Of course I'm talking about the Comedy Central Roast of William Shatner.

Sept. 8, 2006, 1:25 a.m.Now that would be cool too see those two guys back ona star trek movie. But how are they going to do it since enterprise series warped the whole series??

Sept. 8, 2006, 5:45 a.m.I love the Original, TNG, and Enterprise. I could easily forget Voyager and most of DS9 (a Bab-5 parody).
I hope they're not going to be in it as actors (flying around in dilithium powered wheel-chairs like Bones in the TNG).
And even as consultants to the film, they may pull it down.
Star Trek needs someone to hit the restart button and take it into a brand new energetically charged direction, closer to the ideals of Roddenberry that made it great to begin with. Sure, there should be nods of recognition where possible, yet not so many that they overpower the movie with throwbacks.
I heard that Matt Damon is set to play a young Kirk. Any confirmation to this rumour?

Sept. 8, 2006, 7:01 a.m.Well, after "Enterprise" I don't think that they can possibly do more damage to the Star Trek timeline. I am against any prequels...they simply never get it right, and as a child of TOS I am tired of the poorly written, ill concieved crap that they pass off under the name Star Trek. It is a wonder that Gene Roddenbury doesn't rise from the grave.

Sept. 8, 2006, 12:09 p.m.OMG, I'm such a "Treckie"!! It would be wonderful to see them do it one more time!! Of course, we will miss "Scotty".
I like the fact that when "they" do their Trek movies, there is a subliminal environment message. Live Long and Prosper!!

'let us go where no one has gone before" !
Those of us in 1966 whom recall the first episodes, are of an era.
Time as SPACE moves on.

Oct. 13, 2006, 1:45 a.m.I thought Kirk bit it in the Nexus in a previous movie? Froggy I didn't know you were a Star Trek fan.
I personally LOVED watching that series. I remember having dinner in the den and watching that. Good times!

Oct. 13, 2006, 1:47 a.m.Froggy, you slay me. That was beautiful! "Target aquired," and "Beam us up,". What a beautifully set scene, and quite true to life, as far as Bill's personality goes.
Love the story, and thanks for the heads up.
